Ambu A/S is currently looking for an experienced medical device project manager with a technical background to head our future product development projects. You will be a part of the GI & Urology team within Global R&D where your primary focus will be to lead cross-functional project teams that develop our future medical devices.  

 

At our Innovation centres in Ballerup, Denmark, Ausburg, Germany and Penang, Malaysia, we develop our new medical devices, we have a great culture and a clear focus on bringing products to the market that is based on a thorough understanding of the customer's needs. We focus on developing new products and production processes that combine several technologies in new and innovative ways. This sets high demands to your project management skills, business and technical understanding, and broad medical device development experience.

 

About the Department

The global team consists of strong project manager profiles, UX and solution architechts - and is based across our Innovation sites in Ballerup, Denmark, Ausburg, Germany and Penang, Malaysia. We are heavily involved on the portfolio management, and we are involved from early screening to sucessful launch... and keep product responsability, with a secondary discipline in Product Lifecycle Management. We take pride in being a global team, with different cultures, close, trusting relations, and one common goal: improving patient care. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

Your main responsibilities will include: 

  • Heading the development of medical devices from initial idea through concept, development and finally implementation at one of our production sites 

  • Establishing a motivating and collaborative working environment in a global project team 

  • Maintaining a close collaboration with globally based stakeholders and especially with the Solution Steering Committee where you will align on resources, timeline, budget and strategies  

  • Setting direction and tracking of project budget and progress 

  • Taking part in prototype builds and following tests and interviews with users and stakeholders  

  • Being part of the Solutions Team where you will share and support on best practice and lessons learned    

 

Suggested candidate profile 

Skills and experiences can be earned in many different ways, and we understand that the best fit for the role cannot be prescribed on paper. You are however likely to succeed in this position if you: 

  • hold a degree in engineering and have technical work experience that will support decision-making and challenges during the project 

  • have some years of experience within medical device project management and come with a broad project management skillset and toolbox  

  • are familiar with having a globally based project team and supplier base 

  • are curious, open-minded and have great interpersonal skills 

  • are committed, structured and have an intense sense of responsibility towards your work and your team members 

  • possess strong leadership skills 

  • ideally have a certification in Project Management  

  • are willing to travel up to 20 days per annum

 

It is a requirement that you are fluent in oral and written English.
