Ambu Ltd is seeking a dynamic Sustainability Lead to be based in our UK Head office in Cambridgeshire.

The Sustainability Lead will be part of the Marketing Team reporting to the Marketing Director, UK & Ireland, to oversee the development and implementation of sustainability initiatives throughout the UK organisation. 

 

Key responsibilities

As the Sustainability Lead, you will be responsible for developing and implementing sustainability projects in collaboration with various internal departments, ensuring these initiatives align with current trends, regulations, and best practices. You will create and manage action plans and timelines, monitor progress using key performance indicators, and report on these to demonstrate tangible outcomes. Your role will involve leading initiatives to enhance environmental performance, such as our Recycling Pilot Programme, and effectively communicating Ambu’s sustainability commitments to customers and stakeholders. Building partnerships with external stakeholders and government agencies, you will advance our sustainability objectives and collaborate with industry peers, non-profits, and academic institutions to share best practices. Additionally, you will develop a clear sustainability narrative and marketing communications, provide insights to shape the global ESG strategy, and use multiple communication channels to reach external audiences. Showcasing success stories, training and supporting employees, and leading the UK Sustainability working groups are also key aspects of this role.

 

Suggested candidate profile

Skills and experiences can be earned in many different ways, and we understand that the best fit for the role cannot be prescribed on paper. You are however likely to succeed in this position if you:

  • Are educated to Degree level in a relevant discipline with minimum 2 years appropriate work experience (Extensive practical experience is valued over qualifications).
  • Have experience within medical devices/tech 
  • Knowledge of the NHS net zero initiatives
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards related to sustainability
  • Demonstratable experience implementing sustainability projects
  • Ability to produce quality marketing and sales support materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects
  • Professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Are a self-starter, able to work on your own and use own initiative
  • Able to engage with all levels of internal and external stakeholders
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken
