Develop products that save lives

We develop, produce and sell medical devices, which enable doctors and nurses to save lives and improve patient care. We are experiencing massive success and we are currently looking for a new talented Senior Test and Verification Engineer. We offer a challenging position where you will be an important player on the R&D team and you will participate in securing our ongoing dedication to quality products. You will be part of an effective R&D culture with a tradition for fast completion of projects, which means that there is a visible link between your results and Ambu’s growth.

You will be a member of our Global Design Verification team with employees in Denmark, Germany and Malaysia. We focus on developing new products and processes that combine several technologies in a new and innovative way.

A job with global impact

In our team, we are specialized in test and verification of medical devices. As a test and verification engineer, your role is to participate in product development projects from early prototype development to launch of new products. You will be responsible for all stages including test and verification during updates of marketed products.

You will be responsible for the project test and verification strategy and planning of test activities globally. Furthermore, you will be the driving force of finding out which test methods can be reused and the driving force of new test method development in both mechanical and electronical areas. It is therefore important that you have the creativity to develop new test setups but also that you have a hands-on approach and like to spend time in the lab.

In the projects, you will contribute with the following:

  • Planning the test and verification activities globally
  • Reviewing requirements
  • Designing and developing test methods and test protocols
  • Performing both informal and formal tests to evaluate performance both during and after development
  • Communicate with your colleagues in Germany, Malaysia and Denmark about how to setup and perform tests
  • Report test results and defects
  • General coordination with different project stakeholders in Germany, Malaysia and Denmark
  • You also need to be prepared to travel approximately 5-10 days per year, primarily to our manufacturing site in Malaysia.

You will be part of a design verification team that handles test within many different technical areas, e.g. electrical, image processing and mechanical testing. It is therefore an advantage if you have a willingness to learn about different technical disciplines.

As a natural part of your work, you will also be responsible for documentation according to FDA and ISO standards.

Suggested candidate profile

Setting you up for success is one of our cornerstones. To make this path realistic and achievable, you have experience within the medical device industry, within test and verification. Given the global aspect of the role, we also see that you carry great communication skills in English, both oral and written, to effectively communicate across cross-functional teams, as well as strong teamwork capabilities and interpersonal skills.

Skills and experiences can be earned in many different ways, and we understand that the best fit for the role cannot be prescribed on paper. You are however likely to succeed in this position if you:

  • Have an engineering degree preferable in electronics
  • Have experience in statistical methods and tools such as SAS JMP or Minitab
  • Carry knowledge of the IEC 60601 standard
  • Have strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Are curios and have willingness to learn
  • Are a good observer and you have flair for spotting details and relating them to a bigger picture

Ideally, you also have experience with requirement and test management tools, as well as with Cross-functional (Mechanical, Electronics, Software) product development.
