Ambu develops and markets intelligent image processing medical devices, based on a combination of state-of-the-art software, hardware, mechanics, and other imaging technologies. We need you to be the Quality Assurance partner in our development and maintenance teams to develop and maintain high-quality products that complies with relevant regulation.
In our Corporate QAE team we always need to be on top of state-of-the-art technologies within our product range including image processing sensors, monitors and network components. We need to make sure that our medical device products are developed and documented according to current regulation. You will be a trusted partner, provide insights, and support decision making to drive business performance.

In the job as QA Engineer you will have the chance to impact product development and your own daily tasks and responsibilities. You will experience a varied working day in a dynamic organization where you will work closely with your colleagues, particularly colleagues in Denmark, but also in Germany, Asia and the US.
The role is based out of our HQ in Ballerup, Denmark. We offer a hybrid way of working, with up to 2 days from home per week.
Your main responsibilities will be to
- Ensure professional and proactive quality assurance in the development projects for products including hardware and software.
- Handle the risk management activities in the development projects.
- Participate in the design transfer process to our external contract manufacturers.
- Support life cycle maintenance of products (design changes, complaints etc.).
- Assist in improving our design control processes and tools.
- Participate in other QAE tasks such as supplier audits and monitoring of existing products.
You can expect some travel activity (5-10 days per year) in connection with projects and maintenance.
We expect you to be experienced in development of electronics and software
We are looking for a self-starter with pioneering mentality, who is not afraid of taking a leap into the unknown. You will be using a solid QA toolbox to keep both feet on the ground and separate dream from
reality in the end. In this role as QA Engineer you will have the chance to impact product development and your own daily tasks and responsibilities. In return, you will experience varied working days in a dynamic organization, working closely with your local, as well as your global colleagues on reaching that same goal together.
Furthermore:
- Your professional background is electronics, software, biomedical or similar engineering
- You carry strong experience within design control of products including software and hardware, either from R&D, QA or similar department
- You carry experience from the medical device or other regulated industry
- You are structured by nature, but still open-minded and like to explore possibilities
- You can maintain overview in a busy environment and you are a cohesion-minded team player with the ability to also work independently
- Experience with risk management, design transfer and/or cybersecurity will be an advantage, but not a requirement.
Given the global aspect of the role, business level English, orally and written, is a requirement.
