As Trade Compliance Specialist, you will take global responsibility for ensuring compliant, resilient, and scalable trade operations, supporting Ambu’s growth across markets. The role combines deep regulatory expertise with close business collaboration, allowing you to influence both daytoday operations and strategic initiatives. If this sounds awesome - Then this might be your defining moment! Ambu A/S is currently looking for a Trade Compliance Specialist in a role based in Ballerup to join our growing Global Distribution team, in Global Supply Chain!

 

 

Key responsibilities

 

You will have overall responsibility for Ambu’s global trade compliance framework, ensuring consistent governance, audit readiness, and scalable compliance across regions as the company continues to grow. Acting as a central subjectmatter expert, you will support the business with trade compliance knowledge across projects, customs cases, and core data structures.

 

You will own the European customs setup and manage customs cases in close collaboration with internal stakeholders and local regulatory or legal experts to ensure compliant import and export operations. You will support Ambu’s product and manufacturing footprint through accurate HS classification and Country of Origin determination, while establishing a structured approach to ongoing classification review. By monitoring developments in the global trade landscape, you will translate regulatory changes into clear business risks and opportunities and contribute your expertise to crossfunctional initiatives.

 

 

Your main responsibilities will include:

 

  • Implementing and maintaining a Global Trade Compliance Framework to ensure consistent governance, clear roles & responsibilities, audit readiness and scalable compliance across regions and functions
  • Responsiblity for the European customs set-up; handle customs cases as they arise, managing stakeholders, proactively communicating and gathering required input from the organization
  • Liaison with local Ambu entities’ regulatory- or legal professionals to ensure that all our import/export activities are compliant with local laws and regulations
  • Taking part in establishing and mapping the impact of our product development footprint, through product classification according to HS codes and Country of Origin for products
  • Implementation of a systematic set-up for continued review and evaluation of the product classifications
  • Monitoring and risk assessing changes to the global trade landscape to ensure Ambu is proactive in identifying risks and opportunities in our set-up
  • Contributing with your expert knowledge in various projects, identifying potential possibilities and risks

 

You will be part of a great team of 12, responsible for the distribution activities under Global Supply Chain.

 

 

Suggested candidate profile

 

Skills and experiences can be earned in many different ways, and we understand that the best fit for the role cannot be prescribed on paper. You are however likely to succeed in this position if you have:

 

  • 5+ years of experience working with import/export regulations, customs, international trade regulations and supply chain management
  • Expert knowledge of international trade compliance and regulatory compliance in relation to import/export, including customs, incoterms, HS codes, country of origin and duties
  • Experience with managing customs broker set-ups by third party providers
  • Interest in global trade development and risk mitigation
  • Great communication skills and experience from larger organizations with complex stakeholder environments
  • Proven track record of successful stakeholder management in an international context
  • Have a good understanding of IT and particularly ERP systems operating in a global manufacturing organization
  • Knowledge from healthcare and operating in a regulated environment is an advantage, but not a prerequisite
