Ambu A/S is currently looking for a Staff Technical Engineer to be based in Penang 

Join our dynamic engineering team where you will lead equipment optimization, drive process improvements, and solve complex technical challenges in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Collaborate across teams, support innovation, and ensure quality excellence while shaping future-ready manufacturing solutions. 

Key responsibilities 

Your main responsibilities will include: 

  • Lead and managed a group of technical engineers by overseeing daily task and coordinating project execution.  

  • Provide engineering solutions, improvement activities (LEAN-OEE), cost saving activities and quality-productivity improvement activities for technical related issues.  

  • Carry out and coordinate project activities and line expansion from conceptual discussion and specification through design and reviews to develop, qualify and implementation of automated manufacturing processes.  

  • Coordinate and support technical maintenance team in setting up production equipment. Ensure equipment are well maintained and operate at optimum condition with minimum breakdown before and after project handover.  

  • Coordinate and support validation engineer in carry out validation activities for new production equipment.  

  • Coordinate and support Sample Build Request (SBR) activities.  

  • Resolve quality issues related to new and existing products.  

  • Perform technical support (active participation) and problem solving, i.e. technical evaluation of design changes and product complaints.  

 

Suggested candidate profile 

Skills and experiences can be earned in many different ways, and we understand that the best fit for the role cannot be prescribed on paper. You are however likely to succeed in this position if you: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or equivalent qualification with relevant experience. 

  • Strong technical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.  

  • Hands-on experience with production equipment, automation, PLC programming, or system control will be an added advantage.  

  • Able to work independently and collaboratively in a cross-cultural environment.  

  • Strong commitment to documentation, project schedules, and continuous improvement.  

  • Experience in the medical device industry, including FDA requirements, Design Control, Process Validation, and ISO 13485, will be an added advantage.
