R&D Material Engineer

Ambu Innovation is currently looking for a R&D Material Engineer to join our Industrialization Department.

In our team, we have a diverse group of experienced engineers, each with their own expertise, but with the common goal of developing mechanical solutions for our medical products.

As an R&D engineer, you'll bring your expertise to strengthen our team and play an active role in our product development projects.

 

Key responsibilities

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Individual contributor in projects related to materials technology including polymers & advanced manufacturing.
  • Responsibility for mechanical design, focusing on extrusion processes, material selection in polymers, ensuring quality aspects like robustness, cost-effectiveness, sustainability, and medical safety
  • Contributing to new product development via defining materials and process parameters
  • Collaborating with suppliers to ensure component quality aligns with regulations and defined standards
  • Working in an international setting, collaborating with development teams from Germany, Denmark, and Malaysia, as well as external partners, users, physicians, and knowledge centers

 

Suggested candidate profile

Skills and experiences can be earned in many different ways, and we understand that the best fit for the role cannot be prescribed on paper. You are however likely to succeed in this position if you:

 

  • Having over 5 years of experience as an R&D Engineer is crucial, with a specific focus on plastic technologies and a solid knowledge of polymer materials and their uses.
  • It's vital that you have practical experience in mechanical design, specifically to meet the demands of plastic applications and process techniques, demonstrating a good understanding of extrusion processes, or similar technical fields is essential

 

It would be advantageous if you can also bring:

  • Broad experience in liasing with suppliers and manufacturing facilities.
  • Demonstrate structured way of working complemented by innovative thinking
  • Previous experience in a project driven and international environment within a medical company
