We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Assembly Supervisor to support R&D, New Product Introduction (NPI), and Manufacturing Transfer activities within a medical device manufacturing environment.

This role leads a team of approximately 50 operators supporting prototype, engineering, and validation builds, while also being responsible for safety leadership, operator training, and build quality oversight. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring project builds are executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with quality requirements. The role supports operator readiness, training effectiveness, manufacturing transfer activities, and quality system compliance.

 

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Operator Management

  • Lead and supervise operators supporting R&D and NPI build activities.
  • Manage manpower planning, attendance, overtime, and workforce allocation.
  • Handle employee coaching, disciplinary matters, and operator well-being.

Safety Leadership

  • Promote safe work practices and compliance with safety requirements.
  • Conduct operator safety training and awareness programs.
  • Proactively identify workplace hazards and support timely corrective actions.

Training & Competency Development

  • Train and certify operators on assembly processes, equipment operation, and work instructions.
  • Maintain training records and competency matrices.
  • Coach and develop operators to achieve high standards of quality and workmanship.

Build Execution & Quality Oversight

  • Support prototype, engineering, and validation builds.
  • Ensure compliance with approved work instructions and manufacturing processes.
  • Perform build verification activities and quality gate inspections as required.

 

Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of manufacturing experience with supervisory responsibilities.
  • Experience managing assembly or production operators in a manufacturing environment.
  • Medical device manufacturing or other regulated industry experience is strongly preferred.
  • Strong leadership, communication, coaching, and problem-solving skills.
