Ambu A/S is currently looking for a Technical Manager to be based in Penang, Malaysia.

 

This position is reporting to the Manufacturing Director and will based in our Penang manufacturing plant. If you are passionate about solving complex problems and building innovative solutions, this position is for you. As a Technical Manager you will lead a team and help run daily manufacturing operation, you will also collaborate with other teams and work on impactful projects in medical device industry.

 

Key responsibilities

 

Your main responsibilities will include:

 

  • Lead technical team. Builds and nurtures the technical workforce, providing leadership and guidance to ensure team motivation and effective oversight. Supervises daily operations to maintain strict adherence to performance goals and safety standards.
  • Design and implement innovative, cost-efficient strategies to boost quality and productivity, while reducing waste by improving existing machinery or adopting advanced manufacturing processes.
  • Develop strategies to minimize machine downtime, lowering labour costs, and enhancing productivity from an engineering standpoint.
  • Identify technology-driven opportunities that enhance and optimize existing processes.
  • Collaborate with the vendor to customize and construct machines for capacity expansion.
  • Oversee preventive maintenance schedules, track inventory of parts, and monitor the usage of consumables.
  • Develop strategies and allocate workforce within the production schedule to ensure maintenance of process equipment and regular inspections.
  • Handle customer complaints, NCRs, CAPAs and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

 

 

Suggested candidate profile

 

Skills and experiences can be earned in many different ways, and we understand that the best fit for the role cannot be prescribed on paper. You are however likely to succeed in this position if you:

 

  • Minimum education of Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronic or other engineering disciplines.
  • Minimum 5 years' working experience in automation within a high-mix and fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge in ISO 13485 and 21CFR820 and experience in constructing machinery would be an added advantage.
  • Proven leadership skills.
