Sustainability Reporting Specialist (ESG)

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and timely deliver quarterly and annual accounting statements for ESG data, including end-to-end management of process for ESG data reporting (planning, follow-up, data control, validation, consolidation and issue tracking). (30%)
  • Collect and centralize data and supporting documentation from internal stakeholders and support documentation overview (quality, completeness, and evidence).(20%)
  • Support monitoring and reporting of Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions – Scope 1, 2 and 3, with particular focus on controls, and audit-ready documentation (e.g., spend extracts, calculation workbooks, signoffs and explanations for fluctuations). (15%)
  • Manage audit/assurance process by preparing evidence packs, responding to the auditor information requests, and tracking closure of audit findings.(15%)
  • Develop and maintain ESG reporting governance materials (e.g., ESG Accounting Manual, templates, checklists and process descriptions).(15%)
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to reduce manual work and strengthen ESG reporting controls (e.g., standardisation, documentation discipline and system/process enhancements). (5%)
  • Assist with ad-hoc ESG reporting and data management tasks as needed.

Requirements:

  • 3–6 years of relevant experience in ESG/sustainability reporting, preferably gained through ESG or financial audit, accounting, compliance reporting, finance/procurement analytics, or a similar data-intensive reporting role – preferrable from a big 4 audit firms or global corporation reporting against global ESG reporting standards and frameworks such as CSRD, ESRS and GRI.
  • Hands-on experience working with CSRD/ESRS reporting frameworks, GRI, SASB and GHG protocol and SBTi (Scope 1, 2 and/or Scope 3) and a strong interest in deepening these capabilities.
  • Strong financial analytical and problem-solving skills, documentation discipline and understanding of audit trail requirements (evidence, assumptions, sign-offs).
  • Strong data handling and spreadsheet management skills with attention to detail while handling large datasets (advanced Excel; Power BI is an advantage).
  • Ability to multitask and coordinate across functions and regions to collect data, resolve gaps, and timely deliver to hard deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills and proficiency in English – written and verbal
  • Analytical with high attention to detail and strong critical thinking
  • Proactive, structured, accountable and execution-focused; able to work independently with minimal supervision and escalate risks early.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science/Engineering, Finance, Auditing, Business, Data Science, or a related field (Master’s is an advantage).
