Senior NPI Engineer (Equipment & Automation)

Ambu A/S is currently looking for an NPI Engineer for our Equipment & Automation team to be based in Ambu Global Hub, in Penang, Malaysia.

 

Key responsibilities

 

Your main responsibilities will include:

  1. Design, develop, and implement new manufacturing equipment,testing equipment and automation systems with robotics integration to enhance efficiency and precision.
  2. Evaluate and select appropriate automation technologies by staying updated on emerging technologies and industry trends.
  3. Collaborate with the Process Engineering team to define Process Input Requirements (PIR).
  4. Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to procure equipment, managing relationships to ensure quality and timely delivery.
  5. Conduct Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) for new equipment to ensure they meet specifications, performance standards, and regulations.
  6. Optimize equipment performance and efficiency.
  7. Provide technical support and troubleshooting for equipment-related issues.
  8. Provide training and support for equipment operation and maintenance.

 

Suggested candidate profile

 

Skills and experiences can be earned in many different ways, and we understand that the best fit for the role cannot be prescribed on paper. You are however likely to succeed in this position if you:

  1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field.
  2. Experience in equipment development and automation within a manufacturing or R&D environment.
  3. Strong understanding of mechanical design, robotics, automation systems, and control systems.
  4. Proficiency in CAD software and automation programming.
  5. Knowledge of simulation software for machine design, which allows for virtual testing and optimization of equipment before physical prototypes are built, is a plus.
  6. Proficiency in quality systems and standards, along with knowledge of FDA regulations and compliance requirements for medical devices.
  7. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  8. Effective communication and collaboration skills.
