Ambu A/S is currently looking for an NPI Engineer for our Equipment & Automation team to be based in Ambu Global Hub, in Penang, Malaysia.
Key responsibilities
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Design, develop, and implement new manufacturing equipment,testing equipment and automation systems with robotics integration to enhance efficiency and precision.
- Evaluate and select appropriate automation technologies by staying updated on emerging technologies and industry trends.
- Collaborate with the Process Engineering team to define Process Input Requirements (PIR).
- Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to procure equipment, managing relationships to ensure quality and timely delivery.
- Conduct Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) for new equipment to ensure they meet specifications, performance standards, and regulations.
- Optimize equipment performance and efficiency.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for equipment-related issues.
- Provide training and support for equipment operation and maintenance.

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience in equipment development and automation within a manufacturing or R&D environment.
- Strong understanding of mechanical design, robotics, automation systems, and control systems.
- Proficiency in CAD software and automation programming.
- Knowledge of simulation software for machine design, which allows for virtual testing and optimization of equipment before physical prototypes are built, is a plus.
- Proficiency in quality systems and standards, along with knowledge of FDA regulations and compliance requirements for medical devices.
