R&D Test & Verification Engineer

Ambu A/S is currently looking for a Senior R&D Test & Verification Engineer to be based in Penang, Malaysia.

This position reports to the R&D Test & Verification Section Manager. If you are from medical device industry with experience in test & verification, this position would be suitable for you.

 

Key responsibilities

 

Your main responsibilities will include:

 

  • Test Plan Development and Execution
    Design, execute, and document comprehensive test plans and cases based on product specifications and usability to ensure effective validation.

  • Product Design Verification Test
    Lead or support design verification by establishing test instructions, executing verification test (major in mechanical test), performing root cause analysis on failures, and driving effective counter measures.

  • Product and Technical Requirement Development
    Contribute to defining product and technical requirements for new development and DCR activities, ensuring alignment with customer expectations and engineering standards.

  • Test Method Validation
    Validate test methods to ensure reliability, repeatability, and consistency across different setups and users.

  • Test Equipment and Jig Development 
    Designing, developing and customizing the test fixtures and jigs for verification activities.

 

Suggested candidate profile

 

Skills and experiences can be earned in many different ways, and we understand that the best fit for the role cannot be prescribed on paper. You are however likely to succeed in this position if you:

 

  • Master's or bachelor's degree in mechanical, mechatronic or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in product development (specification), product design verification (mechanical testing) and root cause investigation (failure).
  • Experience in the Medical Device industry is a plus, especially with FDA Design Control requirements, ISO 9001 and ISO13485 standards.
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience in mechanical testing such as tensile test, compression test, fatigue test, vibration test, or leak test will be an added advantage.
  • Proficient in statistical tools such as Minitab.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across countries and multicultural teams.  
  • Understand the importance of documentation in product development processes.
  • Demonstrates a strong sense of urgency and commitment to meeting project timelines.
