Ambu A/S is currently looking for an experienced Design Owner with a MedTech background to lead the design process for post-launch products. This role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams and stakeholder engagement to ensure product enhancements and efficient execution of design updates.
You will be a part of the Respiratory & ENT Solutions Team in Global R&D, where you will be responsible for our EndoIntelligence products on the market, with a particular focus on hardware-related changes. The Global Solutions team consist of strong profiles of Design Owners, Project Managers, Product Owners, Solutions Architects and UX engineers and is based across our Innovation sites in Ballerup, Denmark, Augsburg, Germany, and Penang, Malaysia. Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will have design ownership for a range of our successfully launched product ensuring the integrity of the product design throughout its lifecycle and drive continuous improvements based on user needs and market developments.
Furthermore, You Will
- Evaluate design enhancements based on user feedback and market trends
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement product updates
- Maintain the system overview and system architecture
- Act as the technical authority for the product throughout lifecycle
- Serve as a technical subject matter expert for internal stakeholders and external authorities when needed
- Act as the main point of contact for supplier communication
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and standards
- Be part of the Global Solutions Team, where you will share and support best practice and lessons learned
Suggested candidate profile
Skills
Skills and experience can be gained in many ways, and we understand the best fit for the role cannot be prescribed on paper. You are, however, likely to succeed in this position if you have:
- A technical background, preferably with a degree in mechanical Engineering or medical technology – what truly interests us is your drive and experience!
- Previous experience as a Design Owner or similar role in the medical device industry
- Strong understanding of medical device regulations and standards (e.g., ISO 13485, FDA regulations)
- A good understanding of customer value creation
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across different teams and stakeholders
- Can communicate fluently in English, both spoken and written.
- Comfortable working across time zones and cultures including our four sites (Penang, Xiamen, Noblesville and Juarez)
Furthermore, you are an excellent collaborator and able to positively engage with colleagues across departments and in different working time zones. You should expect 15-20 travel days per year.
