Housekeeper - 2nd Shift

Objective:

Responsible for maintaining overall cleanliness of the facility.

Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of manufacturing support areas, including restrooms, locker rooms, gowning areas, break rooms, common areas, and corridors in accordance with facility standards.
  • Sweep, mop, and clean floors, rugs, and carpets; operate self‑propelled floor scrubbers as required and dispose of waste properly.
  • Empty trash and recycling receptacles, replace liners, and transport waste to designated disposal areas following site procedures.
  • Clean and sanitize tables, chairs, microwaves, refrigerators (interior and exterior), water fountains, windows, mirrors, ceiling tiles, and light fixtures; report any damaged, missing, or unsafe conditions.
  • Perform daily cleaning and sanitization of toilets, urinals, sinks, stall doors, walls, and other restroom fixtures, with additional cleaning as needed.
  • Restock restroom, break room, kitchenette, and gowning room supplies to support continuous manufacturing operations.
  • Clean and replenish coffee stations and related supplies in break areas daily.
  • Wipe down lockers, doors, walls, and flat surfaces to control dust and debris in non‑production areas adjacent to manufacturing spaces.
  • Stock clean lab coats in gowning areas as required to support hygiene and contamination‑control.
  • Complete all assigned daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedules accurately and on time.
  • Use approved cleaning chemicals at correct dilutions and only operate cleaning equipment after proper training.
  • Ensure compliance with all site safety rules, including proper use of required personal protective equipment (PPE) while performing tasks.
  • Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 25 pounds and perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the shift.
  • Carry a department radio and respond promptly to housekeeping requests throughout the facility.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and other departments regarding issues, improvement ideas, safety concerns, or resource needs.
  • Demonstrate the ability to manage daily work assignments with minimal supervision and adjust priorities to meet production support needs.
  • Provide coverage for other housekeeping team members and assist coworkers as needed.
  • Work mandatory overtime, including rotating weekends, shutdowns, or special cleaning assignments as required by manufacturing schedules.
  • Assist with set-up and teardown of equipment and supplies for companywide meetings or events.
  • Perform all assigned duties thoroughly, accurately, and in a timely manner.

Additional Responsibilities and Essential Functions for Senior Operator:

  • Oversee and ensure effective cleanliness of the facility.
  • Assign tasks by location responsibilities and update associated resources.
  • Perform hands-on training and associated certification for Operator, Housekeeping personnel.
  • Ensure the housekeeping team has the proper supplies and tools necessary to perform their duties.
  • Escalate to EH&S Supervisor information regarding product or supply needs, conflicts, concerns for the general facility or housekeeping team, identified hazards, broken equipment and vendor related items.
  • Ensure the housekeeping team is aware of and using proper Personal Protection Equipment (PPE).
  • Coordinate and ensure adequate staffing for all shifts, special project assignments, and company events.
  • Maintain locker cleanliness and cleanout needs.
  • All other duties as assigned.

 

Additional Authorities for Senior Operator:

  • Schedule individuals to work, as necessary to maintain a clean facility.

 

Work Environment:

This is a manufacturing facility and as a result, employees have the potential to be exposed to noise, chemicals, fumes, airborne particles, machinery, vibration or other workplace hazards controlled within compliance of current safety and health standards.

 

Qualifications:

  • Highschool diploma or equivalent required
  • 2 or more years’ experience in housekeeping within a manufacturing facility preferred
  • Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English
