Facility Manager, Noblesville

Do you enjoy leading people and ensuring that facilities and workplace services run smoothly every day? Are you ready to take ownership of Facility Management at an important manufacturing site while helping shape how FM works across a global organisation?

As our new Facility Manager, you will establish and lead the Facility Management team at our ~125,000 ft² site in Noblesville, Indiana, supporting 350+ colleagues who produce innovative medical devices for customers around the world.

Reporting directly to the Head of Global Facility Management & Real Estate at Ambu’s headquarters in Denmark, you will join an international FM leadership team spanning the United States, Mexico, Denmark, China, and Malaysia. Alongside leading Facility Management in Noblesville, you will help co-create global FM standards, processes, tools, and best practices with colleagues across Ambu’s international sites. What works in Noblesville may become tomorrow’s global best practice.

You will start by getting to know the site, its people, and its operational needs. From there, you will establish a clear and globally-aligned FM operating model, strengthen collaboration with Engineering, HR, and other functions, and ensure that responsibilities, interfaces, and accountability are clearly defined.

Key responsibilities

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Establish and professionalise the Facility Management team at the Noblesville site.
  • Lead, develop, and manage a local Facility Management team with direct reports, including setting priorities, managing performance, and building team capabilities.
  • Ensure that Ambu’s Noblesville facility works reliably every day, providing colleagues with the safe and well-functioning environment they need to produce high-quality products for our customers.
  • Clarify FM responsibilities and interfaces with Engineering, HR, Procurement and other site functions.
  • Manage facility suppliers, contracts, service quality, compliance, costs, and continuous improvement.
  • Assess facility assets, risks, maintenance practices, costs, and capability gaps, and establish structured improvement plans.
  • Identify, pilot and drive digitalisation and AI efforts with the aim of delivering effective and modern Facility Management services.
  • Develop facility and asset plans that support operational growth, reliability, compliance, sustainability, and business continuity.
  • Manage FM budgets, reporting, performance measures, and facility projects.
  • Build trusted relationships with local stakeholders and connect the Noblesville site with Ambu's global FM organisation.
  • Contribute to Ambu's global FM development by co-creating processes, standards, tools, KPIs, and best practices with FM colleagues across our international sites.

Examples of the scope include building maintenance, HVAC, electrical and water systems, fire protection, workplace services, cleaning, catering, space management, external areas, contractor management, refurbishment projects, and asset planning. These examples are not exhaustive, and the scope will continue to develop as the FM function and division of responsibilities are established.

You will have a dotted-line relationship with the local VP of Operations and collaborate closely with Site Leadership, Engineering, HR, EHS, Quality, Procurement, Finance, IT, and Production.

Suggested candidate profile

Skills and experiences can be earned in different ways, and we understand that the best fit for the role cannot be prescribed on paper. You are, however, likely to succeed in this position if you:

  • Have solid Facility Management experience in a corporate organization, preferably a global company within the medical device or pharmaceutical industry.
  • Have experience establishing, developing, or professionalising an FM function or service organisation.
  • Understand building systems, maintenance, compliance, budgets, supplier management, and facility projects.
  • Have experience leading employees and coordinating technicians, contractors, and external service providers.
  • Can create clarity, establish priorities, and turn assessments into practical improvement plans.
  • Build trust and work effectively across local and international functions.
  • Have strong operational focus with the ability to understand long-term implications.
  • Hold a relevant technical, engineering, Facility Management, or related qualification, or have equivalent professional experience.
  • Have knowledge of applicable U.S., Indiana, and local building, fire safety, environmental, workplace safety, and regulatory requirements.
  • Have full professional proficiency in written and spoken English.
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint, and be comfortable using spreadsheets, email, and digital tools to manage budgets, analyze data, track actions, and communicate clearly.
  • Are willing to travel occasionally within the U.S. and internationally.

As a person, you are structured, proactive, and comfortable creating clarity in a developing organisation. You listen and build relationships across cultures spanning the globe, before implementing change, while taking ownership and constructively challenging existing ways of working.
