Objective:

 

This position is responsible for ensuring the housekeeping team is trained and able to perform all housekeeping activities. This position also performs the duties of Operator, Housekeeping and is responsible for maintaining the overall cleanliness of the facility.

 

Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

  • Oversee all housekeeping team activities and ensure effective cleanliness of the facility.
  • Perform training and coaching for all Operator, Housekeeping personnel.
  • Monitor productivity and performance levels of the team.
  • Ensure adequate staffing for all shifts, special project assignments, and company events.
  • Ability to work mandatory overtime for rotating weekends and extra cleaning assignments, as needed.
  • Fill in or help cover for other team members and assist other team members as needed.
  • Performs the tasks of Operator, Housekeeping in addition to Coordinator duties, as needed.
  • Properly collect and dispose of trash from bins and containers.
  • Ensure vacuuming and cleanliness of all carpets in offices, hallways and stairwells.
  • Clean and restock all common areas such as meeting rooms and café.
  • Clean and restock coffee related items.
  • Clean sinks, mirrors, showers, toilets and floors in bathrooms.
  • Dust desktops and monitors in offices and wall mounted items in common areas.
  • Ensure coffee cups and any other dishes left in the common area are collected and washed on a daily basis.
  • Disinfect commonly touched items such as door handles, table surfaces and common area keyboards and mice.
  • Ensure refrigerators are emptied and cleaned on a weekly basis.Ensure the housekeeping team has the proper supplies and tools necessary to perform their housekeeping duties.
  • Communicate with leadership any product needs and concerns for the general facility and housekeeping team.
  • Coordinate staffing and lead the housekeeping team for any special assignments such as weekend cleaning and group cleaning projects.
  • Communicate with leadership any problem, idea, or solution which pertains to housekeeping and/or its interaction with other departments.
  • Address employee concerns, escalating concerns to the proper personnel when necessary and following up with employees during this process.
  • Ensure that housekeeping personnel are aware of and using proper Personal Protection Equipment (PPE).Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 25lbs.
  • All other duties as assigned.

 

Authorities:

  • Make recommendations on employee discipline as necessary to department leadership
  • Schedule individuals to work as needed
  • Access and use cleaning supplies and equipment as needed

 

Work Environment:

This is a manufacturing facility and as a result, employees have the potential to be exposed to noise, chemicals, fumes, airborne particles, machinery, vibration or other workplace hazards controlled within compliance of current safety and health standards.

 

Qualifications:                                                                                                                   

 

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 2 years’ experience in housekeeping in a manufacturing environment
  • 2 years’ experience in supervision
  • Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English

  • Bloodborne Pathogen Training
  • Hazard Communication and Chemical Safety Awareness Training
