POSITION SUMMARY:
The Product Development Engineering Summer Intern is a 12 – 15 week position from May - August.

The Product Development Engineering Summer Intern will work closely with the Product Development team in the design and development of products and processes including design verification, validation, and clinical evaluation of medical devices. Ambu (King Systems) is a highly specialized medical device manufacturer with a central focus in injection molding, plastic extrusion, and medical device assembly for anesthesia products.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work closely with product development engineering team to complete tasks that contribute to the company's goals.
  • Assist in the design and development of innovative solutions.
  • Facilitate design changes to existing products.
  • Participate in the Agile Scrum for product development.
  • Document design inputs to address the intended use of the product. 
  • Document the conformance of requirements through design outputs.
  • Partake in design reviews.
  • Assist in design verification protocols in accordance with the proper procedures.
  • Execute design verification protocols and R&D testing data collection and analysis.
  • Assist in design validation protocols in accordance with the proper procedures.
  • Responsible for understanding and following all applicable procedures and product requirements.
  • Ensure cross functional communication is occurring to secure implementation of new designs and changes.
  • All other duties as assigned.
  • Collaborate in creative workshops to achieve the best designs and solutions.
  • Presents accomplishments to Leadership team at the completion of internship.

 

QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION:

  • Highly motivated self-starter that works well in teams and independently
  • Student working towards a Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering
  • Strong organization, problem solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and pay attention to detail
  • Proficient in PC skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Solid Works

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This is a manufacturing facility, and as a result, employees have the potential to be exposed to noise, chemicals, fumes, airborne particles, machinery, vibration, or other workplace hazards controlled within compliance of current safety and health standards.
