Ambu A/S is currently looking for a HR Business Partner- Global Hub/ Learning & Development Manager to be based in Penang, Malaysia.

 

You will be part of the People and Culture team in Malaysia directly reporting to the People and Culture Director.

 

The HR Business Partner (HRBP) for the Global Hub plays a dual role in driving strategic HR initiatives and leading Learning & Development (L&D) efforts. This position acts as the first point of contact for HR matters within the Global Hub, ensuring seamless coordination across HR functions and alignment with global strategies. The HRBP will partner closely with leaders across functions to foster a high-performance culture, support talent development, and implement organizational change.

 

This role will be based out of our Penang Global Hub, where you are joined by colleagues in global roles across People & Culture and broader functions. Ambu Malaysia is a fast-growing site, currently more than 2000 people strong spanning across multiple functions such as Operations, R&D, Shared Services and Sales & Marketing.

 

HR Business Partner- Global Hub/ Learning & Development Manager

Key Responsibilities:

HR Business Partnering

  • Serve as HR first point of contact and a trusted advisor to Global Hub leadership, translating business needs into HR strategies.
  • Act as a central coordinator across HR functions, collaborating with other HR Centres of Excellence (COEs) in addressing business needs.
  • Simplify HR interactions for business leaders, ensuring streamlined support and resolution.
  • Drive employee engagement by aligning HR programs with business objectives.

 

Organizational Development & Culture

  • Drive initiatives that shape and reinforce organizational values and leadership methodologies.
  • Lead efforts to translate global values into local behaviours. Partner with leaders to model desired behaviours, especially in leadership, decision-making, collaboration, and feedback.
  • Facilitate change management processes that minimize resistance and maximize engagement.
  • Analyse trends and report insights to leadership, recommending interventions where cultural misalignment is detected.

 

Leadership Development

  • Close collaboration with Global Organizational Development to deploy global development programs onsite.
  • Develop and implement local initiatives in alignment to and complimenting global strategy.
  • Design and implement leadership growth and succession planning programs.
  • Coach leaders on how to build trust, delegate effectively, and foster innovation through empowerment.

 

Talent & Workforce Planning

  • Partner with Talent Attraction and Total Rewards teams to support white-collar hiring, career development, and retention strategies.
  • Provide workforce data and insights to anticipate challenges and support agile decision-making.

 

Learning Strategy & Planning

  • Work closely with global counterparts to translate corporate initiatives into local programs.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive L&D strategy aligned with business goals.
  • Conduct training needs analysis across departments and levels.
  • Monitor industry trends and best practices to continuously improve learning offerings.

 

Learning Program Development

  • Design and deliver engaging learning programs (e.g., onboarding, management skill, technical training).
  • Curate and manage digital learning platforms and content libraries.
  • Collaborate with external vendors and consultants to enhance learning offerings.

 

Learning & Training Management 

  • Leverage the Human Resource Development Fund (HRDF) and ensure compliance with related legislation.
  • Establish metrics to measure training effectiveness and ROI.
  • Analyse feedback and performance data to refine programs.
  • Report on learning outcomes to senior leadership.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Psychology, or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in L&D, talent development, organizational development or HR business partnering.
  • Strong knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design.
  • Experience with LMS platforms and digital learning tools.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to influence senior stakeholders,
  • Excellent facilitation, and project management skills.
  • Experience in coaching leaders, facilitating workshops, and driving cultural transformation.
  • Ability to manage conflict resolution and engagement strategies.
