Position Summary

The Vice President, Commercial Operations is a senior commercial leader responsible for designing, scaling, and optimizing the infrastructure that enables revenue growth, operational excellence, and exceptional customer experience for a $500M North American business that delivers solutions in the fields of endoscopy, anesthesia, and patient monitoring.

This role provides strategic and operational leadership across Sales Operations, Training & Sales Enablement, Commercial Analytics, Strategic Projects, and Project Management. The VP will lead a multi-disciplinary organization responsible for leading leaders, ensuring strong execution across a complex capital equipment and systems-based portfolio.

The ideal candidate brings deep experience in medical device or capital equipment environments, strong executive presence, and a proven ability to align people, process, data, and technology in support of scalable growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the North American commercial operations strategy aligned with corporate growth objectives and long-range plans.
  • Serve as a strategic partner to the President and North America Leadership Team, translating strategy into execution.
  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing commercial operations organization spanning sales operations, enablement, analytics, and field integration.
  • Establish scalable operating models, governance, and performance management disciplines across all commercial support functions.
  • Oversee all aspects of sales operations
  • Lead sales training and enablement strategy, ensuring consistent onboarding, continuous development, and readiness for new product introductions.
  • Partner closely with Sales Leadership to improve field effectiveness, productivity, and execution consistency.
  • Establish a data-driven culture through robust dashboards, KPIs, and performance reporting across commercial and field functions.
  • Oversee acquisition and management of commercial data sources, including CRM, market data, and competitive intelligence.
  • Own the commercial technology roadmap, including CRM, analytics platforms, and system integrations supporting sales, enablement, and field execution.
  • Ensure strong system adoption, data integrity, and alignment across Sales, Marketing, Corporate Accounts, Service, and Operations.
  • Lead high-impact strategic projects, including commercial transformation initiatives, process redesign, and new operating models.
  • Partner closely with Sales, Marketing, Finance, Corporate Accounts, Supply Chain, Service, IT, Regulatory/Compliance, and Clinical teams to ensure collaborative execution of priorities.
  • Lead Project Management team ensuring accountability for execution of assigned deliverables.
  • Drive disciplined performance management through regular business reviews and executive reporting.
  • Significant cross-functional influence across the North American organization
  • Member of North American Leadership Team

 

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in commercial operations, sales operations, or adjacent roles (preferably within medical device, capital equipment, or healthcare technology environments)
  • Demonstrated success building and leading large, multi-disciplinary teams
  • Strong expertise in CRM systems, commercial analytics, and performance management
  • Executive-level communication skills with the ability to influence across functions and levels
  • Ability and willingness to work onsite in Columbia, MD

 

Preferred

  • MBA or advanced degree
  • Experience in endoscopy, imaging, or procedure-based medical specialties
  • Experience supporting organizations at $250M–$1B revenue scale
  • Background leading commercial transformation or operating model redesign
