As a Commissions Analyst, you will be an integral part of the Compensation and Data team, directly supporting Ambu’s dynamic and expanding sales force. Reporting to the Compensation and Data Process Manager and partnering closely with the Sales Operations Director, you will be responsible for calculating, validating, and delivering timely and accurate sales incentive payouts. Your focus will be on aligning data, systems, and processes to support commission accuracy, transparency, and compliance.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Execute monthly, quarterly, and annual sales commission calculations in accordance with approved compensation plans and organizational policies.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for commission logic, plan interpretation, and payout validation.
- Maintain and enhance master data used in commission processing, including rep assignments, territory mapping, and customer alignment tables.
- Track and analyze Key Account performance to ensure accurate commission attribution and support strategic sales initiatives. Collaborate with Sales Operations and Account Managers to maintain alignment between account-level data and commission logic.
- Collaborate with the Compensation and Data Process Manager to ensure commission processes align with internal controls and data governance best practices.
- Work closely with the Sales Operations Director to provide reporting and insights related to sales performance and incentive metrics.
- Support onboarding and plan education for new hires and sales leadership to ensure understanding of incentive structures.
- Research and resolve commission inquiries and disputes with a customer service–oriented approach, communicating directly with members of the sales team and sales management to address concerns and ensure clarity.
- Participate in audits, plan modeling, process documentation, and special projects as needed.
Qualifications / Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field; or equivalent experience.
- 2–5 years of experience in a commissions, sales operations, or financial analyst role.
- Advanced Excel skills (e.g., Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, nested formulas; Macros a plus).
- Experience with CRM and ERP systems; Salesforce and Profisee preferred.
- Exposure to commission automation platforms such as Xactly, CaptivateIQ, or similar tools is a plus.
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills with a strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate across Finance, Sales, and HR functions, including the ability to navigate and diffuse potentially emotionally charged conversations with professionalism.
