We are growing and expanding our Manufacturing Site in Mexico! In the job as EHS Technician, you will have the opportunity to actively support the organization by meeting ensuring that our manufacturing site runs as needed to have the growth expected of the products we make in Mexico, excel in your own daily tasks and responsibilities, and experience a very varied working day in a dynamic.
Job Summary:
• Conduct safety inspections in production, storage, maintenance, and office areas,
generating reports and following up on findings.
• Support the monthly inspection of emergency equipment such as fire cabinets,
extinguishers, firefighter suits, stretchers, and wheelchairs.
• Verify and follow up on safety conditions in stairs, racks, hallways, emergency exits, and
workstations, among other areas.
• Actively participate in safety walkthroughs alongside supervisors, committees, or
internal/external auditors.
• Identify and report unsafe acts and conditions and manage corrective and preventive
actions.
• Assist in the investigation of incidents and accidents, including evidence collection,
conducting interviews, root cause analysis, and report generation.
• Collaborate in the preparation of risk assessments (JSA/FMEA/PTW) for routine and non-
routine tasks.
• Participate in the design and execution of environmental, health, and safety awareness
campaigns (e.g., PPE use, recycling, housekeeping, ergonomics).
• Support the tracking of EHS indicators such as accidents, near misses, inspections, and
trainings.
• Assist in meeting regulatory and corporate requirements related to occupational safety,
health, and environmental standards (e.g., NOMs, STPS, ISO 45001, ISO 14001, FDA).
• Contractors' management along with the EHS Specialist.
• Providing training sessions.
• Participating in emergency response teams.
• Management of the Health and Safety Committee
Authority:
• Stop any activity that poses an imminent risk to safety, health, or the environment.
• Request corrective actions from operational area managers upon detecting EHS
deviations.
• Propose improvements to procedures, work instructions, and EHS-related controls.
• Report directly to area leaders, supervisors, or management in the event of non-
compliance or critical conditions.
• Participate in internal and external audits as an EHS area representative.
• Request the participation of key personnel in EHS-related training, meetings, or
campaigns.
Required skills /Abilities:
• Technical or professional degree in Occupational Safety and Hygiene, Environmental
Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related fields.
• Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a similar position.
• Knowledge of local and international safety and hygiene regulations (STPS, NFPA, OSHA,
etc.).
• Proficient in risk analysis tools (JSA, FMEA, 5 Whys, etc.).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and EHS management systems.
• Teamwork skills, effective communication, and a preventive mindset.
Work Environment:
This is a manufacturing facility and as a result, employees have the potential to be exposed to noise, chemicals, fumes, airborne particles, machinery, vibration, or other workplace hazards controlled within compliance of current safety and health standards.
