Customs Specialist

The Customs specialist must have proven knowledge in customs compliance for US, Mexico and International legislation and provide active support for day-to-day operations.   Must have knowledge of supply chain security programs OEA, C-TPAT , duty deferral programs PROSEC, RULE 8 and provide support on the administration of temporary import balances and VAT certification.

Responsabilities & functions:

•    Customs processes  
•    Prepare customs documentation for Temporary and Definitive Import: (Raw Material, Machinery, Equipment and Tooling, Hazardous Materials, Indirect Materials)
•    Prepare export customs documentation: (Finished Product, Raw Material, Machinery and Equipment, Indirect Materials, Hazardous Materials, Waste). 
•    Prepare customs documentation for Virtual Import and Export: (Raw Material, Machinery, Equipment and Tooling, Finished Product, Waste).
•    Generate customs documentation of regime changes: (Raw Material, Machinery, Equipment, and tooling).
•    Generate Customs documentation for change of regularization of raw material and equipment as required.
•    Customs programs
•    Register, monitor and maintain capture of import and export documentation in annex 24 system.
•    Perform monthly reconciliation and comparison of information in annex 24 system vs glossa and physical inventory.
•    Maintain Customs digital and hard copy archive based on legal requirements.
•    Review Customs broker reports.
•    Review correct elaboration and payment of import and export pediments.
•    Identify and monitor Customs raw material balances for compliance of correct temporary status management.
•    Review correct application of preferential treatment based on FTZ and duty deferral program applications.
•    Prepare al required information requested by Customs brokers.
•    Maintain information updated raw material, finish Good and equipment information in all customs data bases.
•    Provide support to internal and external functional areas.
•    Help to manage supply chain security certifications OEA / C-TPAT.
•    Help to manage annual certificate of origin request and qualification of finish goods for FTA application.
•    Perform periodic internal Customs audits on key indicators.
•    Ensure customs compliance is up to date. 
•    Seek for continuous improvements and cost savings on duties or any other area under customs scope.
•    Maintain fixed assets inventory identified and updated for customs purposes and compliance.

Qualifications / Education:
•    Bachelor's degree in in foreign trade or another related field (desirable)
•    Prior experience working with Customs systems.
•    Strong Microsoft Excel and Access capabilities
•    2+ years' experience in Manufacturing plant
•    Proficient with Microsoft Office applications desired.
•    Excellent oral and written communication skills.
•    Bilingual (English - Spanish) desirable
