Test & Verification Engineer – Image Quality Verification

Do you want to help develop medical devices that improve patient care? Are you motivated by image quality, hands-on testing, and close collaboration with product development teams?

If so, this is an opportunity to take a key technical role and shape how we verify innovative imaging solutions in a global MedTech environment.

Develop products that save lives

At Ambu, we develop medical devices that help doctors and nurses save lives and improve patient care. We are looking for a Test & Verification Engineer with experience in image quality verification. In this role, approximately 80% of your time will focus on image quality verification and the documentation of it, while the remaining 20% will support broader Test & Verification activities across development projects.

You will join our global Test & Verification team across Denmark, Germany, and Malaysia and work closely with colleagues developing innovative products and test solutions.

A job with global impact

As part of our Test & Verification team, you will contribute to development projects from early prototypes to product launch, with a clear focus on image quality verification.

Your main responsibility will be to execute and evolve image quality verification activities, including developing test methods and setups, writing test protocols and reports, test execution and data analysis for camera and imaging performance. You will be expected to take ownership, drive technical decisions, and act as a trusted specialist for project teams. In addition, you will support selected general Test & Verification tasks across other technical areas. We are looking for someone with specialist knowledge, a hands-on mindset, and seniority to create direction and influence across projects.

Key responsibilities
In this role, you will contribute to the following:

  • Be responsible for image quality verification activities in development projects from planning through conclusion in close collaboration with our image verification lead
  • Define and mature robust test strategies, methods, protocols, and setups for imaging performance based on existing FDA regulated methods
  • Test execution and documentation
  • Interpret results and provide clear technical recommendations to project teams
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of verification practices and support knowledge sharing across the global team
  • Support selected general Test & Verification assignments and collaborate across Denmark, Germany, and Malaysia

You should also be prepared to travel approximately 5-10 days per year, primarily to our manufacturing site in Malaysia.

You will be part of a team covering several technical disciplines, and while this role is centered on image quality verification, we value experienced colleagues who can work across interfaces, guide discussions, and strengthen verification practices more broadly when needed.

As a natural part of your work, you will also be responsible for documentation according to FDA and ISO standards which are required when working in a regulated company.

Suggested candidate profile

To succeed in this role, you bring solid experience from Test and Verification in regulated product development together with competencies in image quality verification or an understanding of image processing and optics. You take ownership and communicate clearly, are comfortable influencing technical decisions and enjoy collaboration and teamwork.

Need to have

  • A relevant engineering degree and several years of hands-on experience within test and verification
  • Experience with test of imaging or camera-based products
  • Ability to drive technically complex assignments with limited supervision
  • Strong analytical mindset and confidence in translating data into technical conclusions and recommendations
  • A collaborative style and the seniority to guide discussions, share knowledge, and contribute to broader Test & Verification activities

Nice to have

  • Experience with image quality verification and tools such as Imatest or similar
  • Knowledge of developing test methods and setups and result interpretation
  • Programming skills in Python and/or Matlab for analysis and automation
