As a Senior Category Manager within Direct Procurement team, you will lead and develop category strategies for Electronics across key technologies such as chipsets, memory components, connectors, and modules including camera and display. Working closely with R&D, Quality and Local Procurement teams, you will ensure RFP, cost savings initiatives, technology, service excellence, and sustainability across our value chain.

 

Collaboration is key - you will partner with stakeholders in Global and Local Operations, Finance, and Procurement colleagues worldwide (US, Mexico, China, Malaysia) to align category & supplier strategies and implement best practices.

 

This position reports directly to the Director of Direct Procurement.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Category Strategy Development: Lead the Electronics category in close cooperation with the key stakeholders within Global Procurement, R&D and Quality to define and implement category strategies aligned with business objectives. Conduct market analysis and benchmarking to ensure competitiveness as well as innovation access.
  • Supplier Management: Lead sourcing activities, including RFPs, negotiations, and contract management. Develop strategic partnerships with clear key supplier roadmaps to ensure service quality and compliance.
  • Cost Optimization & Risk Management: Drive procurement cost reduction initiatives like target costing through should cost models and cost breakdown in quotes without compromising service levels. Identify and mitigate supply chain risks to ensure business continuity.
  • Strategic Partnering & Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with Global Procurement, R&D, Quality, Global Supply Chain, and Finance teams to align procurement strategies with operational needs. Act as a trusted advisor for Electronics procurement decisions.
  • Supplier Performance: Lead business reviews with key suppliers, monitor KPIs for performance, cost savings, and sustainability goals, including ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Data-Driven Procurement: Analyze category spend, supply markets, and cost drivers in collaboration with our new Procurement Insights team to uncover efficiency gains and opportunities.
  • Sustainability: Integrate responsible sourcing practices into category plans. Ensuring alignment with sustainability goals and driving environmental and social impact across the supply base.
  • Innovation & Continuous Improvement: Challenge the status quo and actively explore opportunities for continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Support procurement activities: Cross collaboration enabling One Procurement. 

 

What You Bring

While great skills and experience can come from many paths, we believe you’re likely to thrive in this role if you have:

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Business, Finance or similar field.
  • 5 years of procurement and category management experience and/or 5–8 years of industry experience in Electronics with a procurement focus and strong interest. 
  • Experience with key technologies within the electronics category - such as chipsets, memory components, connectors, and modules including camera and display.
  • Strong stakeholder management experience and ability to collaborate across functions and regions in a matrix environment while building strong internal and external partnerships.
  • Strong analytical capabilities with the ability to turn data into actionable insights.
  • Proven strong skills in negotiation, supplier management, and contract execution etc.
  • Deep experience in running RFI/RFQ/RFP, e-auctions process etc.
  • Proficiency with procurement systems (spend analysis, eSourcing, contract management tools, etc.).
  • Excellent project management, communication, and engagement skills.
  • Pro-active mindset highly self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership and initiative, consistently focused on driving business value.
  • Ability to navigate within a dynamic, fast paced global environment. Quickly adapts to the changes while maintaining productivity and a positive outlook.
  • It will be an advantage if you in addition have Procurement experience within other Direct Spend areas.
