Join Ambu’s global procurement transformation as a Project Sourcing Manager, where you will primarily drive sourcing activities in new product development (NPD) and key sourcing projects, while also contributing to category management to ensure continuity, scalability, and long-term value.

You will operate at the intersection of innovation, cost, technology, and supply risk, helping Ambu bring life-saving solutions to market with strong and competitive business cases.

This role combines hands‑on project sourcing with selected category responsibilities, offering the opportunity to influence both near‑term delivery and long‑term procurement value.

You will be based at Ambu’s HQ in Ballerup, Denmark, as part of Global Direct Procurement team, reporting directly to the Director of Direct Procurement.

The role

As Project Sourcing Manager you will be lead sourcing activities across NPD, sourcing and technology development projects, ensuring the right materials, technologies, and suppliers are selected to support innovation, quality, sustainability, and robust financial outcomes.

Alongside this, you will take on selected category responsibilities linked to:

  • Categories where you act as sourcing lead on multiple projects
  • Postindustrialization consolidation and supplier strategy execution
  • Close alignment and handover with Global Category Managers

You will collaborate closely with R&D, Quality, Global Supply Chain, Operations and Finance, acting as procurement’s commercial and sourcing point of contact throughout the product lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead endtoend sourcing in NPD, sourcing, and technology development projects, from early concept through rampup and handover to operations.
  • Drive supplier and material selection, make/buy decisions, and sourcing strategies aligned with project milestones and governance.
  • Lead RFI/RFQ/RFP activities for projectspecific sourcing and negotiate commercial, contractual, and supply agreements.
  • Enable early supplier involvement (ESI) to support designtocost, designformanufacturability, and innovation access.
  • Own and validate procurement inputs to business cases, including cost drivers, CAPEX, lead time, and lifecycle considerations, while challenging assumptions to secure competitive solutions
  • Proactively identify and mitigate supply, capacity, and technology risks, ensuring compliance with quality, regulatory, and sustainability requirements.
  • Contribute to selected category initiatives by supporting supplier strategy execution, consolidation, and structured handover from project to category sourcing.

Suggested candidate profile

Skills and experiences can be earned in many different ways, and we understand that the best fit for the role cannot be prescribed on paper. You are however likely to succeed in this position if you have:

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Procurement, Business, or similar.
  • 3–5 years of experience in procurement, with strong exposure to project sourcing and/or NPD environments.
  • Solid experience working in crossfunctional project teams, preferably with R&D and product development.
  • Strong skills in supplier and material selection, cost modeling, negotiations, and contract execution.
  • Handson experience running RFI/RFQ/RFP processes, cost breakdowns, and supplier comparisons.
  • Strong analytical capabilities and the ability to translate complexity into clear sourcing recommendations.
  • Excellent project management, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • A proactive, structured, and ownershipdriven mindset with strong business focus.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a dynamic, fastpaced global environment.
  • Experience in additional Direct Procurement categories is considered an advantage.
