The Role

Join Ambu’s Medical Affairs & Market Access team as our new Health Economist, Digital, where you will lead the economic evaluation and value demonstration of our digital health and AI-enabled solutions integrated with medical devices.Reporting directly to the Director, Medical Affairs, you will play a key role in ensuring that robust health economic evidence supports product strategy, market access, and reimbursement across global markets.The position is based at Ambu’s headquarters in Ballerup, Denmark, with a hybrid working setup. 

 

Key Responsibilites

  • Develop cost-effectiveness, cost-utility, and budget impact models for digital health and AI-driven solutions. 
  • Design and execute HEOR studies to quantify clinical and economic benefits of software and AI-enhanced solutions.
  • Collaborate with local Market Access teams to create value dossiers and payer communication materials, including health technology assessments (HTA) for Ambu's digital portfolio.
  • Translate complex technical and clinical evidence into clear and compelling value propositions.
  • Partner with Regulatory, R&D, and Commercial teams to align economic evidence with product strategy.
  • Provide expert input on digital health trends and reimbursement pathways for AI-enabled technologies. 

 

Suggested candidate profile

Skills and experiences can be earned in many different ways, and we understand that the best fit for the role cannot be prescribed on paper. You are however likely to succeed in this position if you have:  
  • A Master’s degree in Health Economics, Health Policy, Pharmacoeconomics, or a related field. Additional training or experience in HTA or Market Access is plus
  • 5+ years of experience in health economics roles within medtech, pharma, or digital health.
  • Solid experience working with AI-enhanced solutions and knowledge of AI-specific assessment frameworks and digital health evaluation methodologies
  • Strong track record in HEOR, HTA, reimbursement, including hands-on development of value dossiers and evidence generation plans for innovative or emerging technologies.
  • Hands-on experience designing and interpreting economic models (cost-effectiveness, cost-utility, budget impact, organizational impact) and in developing value dossiers, HEOR packages, and evidence generation plans for innovative technologies
  • Ability to assess the incremental clinical, economic, and organizational value of AI-driven software layered on medical devices or hardware platforms.
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to translate complex evidence into clear, decision-ready insights.
  • Strong collaboration, communication, and presentation skills, with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset.
