We are currently looking for a Head of Global Upstream Product Management, who wants to take a leading role in shaping our continued growth journey. You will be responsible for leading a team of Global Product Managers, who are the commercial owners of hardware and software projects in our portfolio. Focus is on ensuring that we fully understand customers’ needs and requirements, and that we translate these into impactful solutions for customers and users. You will be driving product management excellence across the life cycle of the projects, drive the product vision and strategy, and represent the customer in all engagements across the organization.

You will work alongside the established team within EndoIntelligence and collaborate closely with colleagues across early pipeline, downstream and strategy, as we deliver on the overall ambition. You will join an international team with highly dedicated colleagues but also have strong ties in our Sales Territories, R&D and other departments. The position is based at Ambu’s headquarters in Ballerup, Denmark. Some traveling should be expected as a part of the job.

Unique role
Our new Head of Global Upstream Product Management will be the owner of our upstream agenda and take a leading role in advancing our EndoIntelligence strategy. Your responsibilities will include:

• Drive the product vision and strategy – in alignment with the leader of EndoIntelligence & Customer Success – and being a leading representative of the customer in all engagements across the organization
• Deliver continuous portfolio management and roadmap execution in line with strategic priorities, including advancing the EndoIntelligence agenda
• Ensure product management excellence across the projects and ensure strong collaboration across software and hardware projects, so we are developing one solution in the eyes of the customer.
• Maintain strong and trusted relationship across the organization to speed up our innovation engine in an effective partnership with R&D and others through quick decision-making, strong customer insights, and cross-project alignment
• Provide effective people leadership and stakeholder management, incl. strengthening EndoIntelligence capabilities across the organization

Key competences
To succeed in this role, you combine strong upstream product leadership with commercial acumen and the ability to build alignment across senior stakeholders. We imagine you bring:

• Deep and extensive experience in upstream product management in software (primary focus), hardware, and AI—ideally at the intersection of these domains
• Extensive experience in MedTech or a closely related industry 
• Strong track record of understanding customer and user needs, translating insight into impactful solutions, and representing the commercial perspective across the organization
• Understanding of hospital systems and previous engagement with both clinical- and non-clinical stakeholders, to understand value of new solutions
• Ability to communicate with senior stakeholders and build a compelling narrative that creates clarity, alignment, and followership
• Passion for developing colleagues; a supportive and challenging leadership style; and a proven ability to improve team performance
