Drive performance and develop our CMO network

 

As CMO Manager, you will take end-to-end ownership of Ambu’s external manufacturing network. You will work closely with our CMO partners to secure capacity, maintain reliable production schedules, improve performance, and ensure that products are available when needed. Part of the assignment includes being part of the NPI process. The role will also from time to time include project participation as well as project ownership in various tactical and operational initiatives

 

The role combines operational execution with continuous improvement and process development of the CMO setup. You will collaborate with R&D, QA, Procurement, Sales, and Global Planning and external stakeholders

 

You will report to the Global Head of Global Operational Planning and Aftersales and be part of the Global Supply Chain organization. The position is based in Ballerup, Denmark.

 

 

Key responsibilities

 

Your main responsibilities will include:

 

  • Manage a portfolio of CMO partners, ensuring effective capacity utilization, reliable production schedules, and product availability by balancing demand, lead times, capacity, and material availability.
  • Develop and expand the CMO supplier network in line with Ambu’s business and supply chain strategy.
  • Monitor CMO performance and production data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities, and to own and resolve escalations related to capacity, supply, quality, and delivery performance.
  • Manage inventory levels for CMO-produced products, balancing customer service, supply risk, and working capital.
  • Partner with R&D, QA, Procurement, Sales, and Global Planning to ensure effective end-to-end collaboration and compliance with relevant regulatory and documentation requirements.
  • Lead and drive improvement initiatives across the CMO network, focusing on performance, efficiency, scalability, and cost.
  • Take ownership of the CMO process and support the development of Ambu’s processes.
  • Participate and represent Global supply chain in NPI related activities.

 

 

Suggested candidate profile

 

Skills and experiences can be gained in many different ways, and we understand that the best fit for the role cannot be prescribed on paper. You are however likely to succeed in this position if you have:

 

  • Around 5 years of experience in operations, supply chain, or OEM/CMO management, preferably within MedTech or another regulated, compliance- and quality-focused industry.
  • A solid understanding of QA/RA requirements and the operational demands of regulated manufacturing.
  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a similar relevant field.
  • Experience driving projects and improvement initiatives across functions and organizations.
  • Strong business understanding combined with a pragmatic and structured approach to assessing situations, prioritizing actions, and making timely decisions.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to navigate effectively across multiple internal and external touchpoints.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English.
