Ambu A/S is currently looking for a AI Healthcare Data Associate to be based in Ballerup.
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented AI Healthcare Data Associate to join our Algorithms team developing innovative AI-enabled medical devices.
In this hands-on, operational role, you will play a key part in building and maintaining high-quality datasets that support the development, tuning, testing, and monitoring of AI and machine learning models. You will collaborate closely with the AI Data Team, AI Engineers, Clinical Specialists, Medical Experts, Software Engineers, and Quality Assurance/Regulatory Affairs teams to ensure datasets are accurate, well-annotated, traceable, and compliant with quality and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
AI Data Preparation & AI Development Support

Support the collection, organization, and management of clinical videos, images, annotations, and associated clinical metadata for AI development, tuning, and testing.

Prepare and curate datasets for training, tuning, and testing according to defined requirements.

Maintain dataset inventories, metadata, version control, and traceability records.
-
Ensure datasets are structured, documented, and suitable for their intended use.
-
Support assessments of dataset quality, representativeness, and suitability for AI use cases.
-
Support exploratory data analysis and dataset readiness reviews.
-
Contribute to bias assessment and continuous data quality improvement initiatives.
Data Quality & Annotation
-
Perform data cleaning, preprocessing, and quality control activities.
-
Identify, investigate, and document data quality issues and support resolution activities.
-
Annotate datasets and review annotations for accuracy, completeness, and consistency according to established guidelines.
-
Support annotation quality control activities and the creation of high-quality ground truth datasets.
-
Generate data quality metrics, summaries, and reports.
Documentation, Compliance & Quality

Prepare and maintain data management, annotation, and other AI data-related documentation.
-
Ensure data traceability throughout the AI data lifecycle.

Support audit readiness, change control, and document review activities.
-
Contribute to compliance with Quality Management System (QMS) requirements, data governance processes, privacy regulations, and Good Machine Learning Practice (GMLP).
Suggested candidate profile

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Data Science, Computer Science, Health Data Science, Bioinformatics, Life Sciences, or a related field.

Experience supporting AI/ML projects through data collection, preparation, cleaning, annotation, or dataset management activities.

Experience handling training, tuning, and test datasets.

Experience working with datasets, including documentation and record maintenance.

Familiarity with datasets commonly used in AI-enabled medical devices, preferably video or clinical data.

Understanding of basic AI and machine learning workflows and the AI data lifecycle.

Good understanding of data quality management and data verification principles.
-
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience working with large datasets.

Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
-
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience supporting the development of AI-enabled medical devices, Software as a Medical Device (SaMD), or healthcare AI solutions.

Experience with annotation platforms and data labeling workflows.

Experience using GitLab, Azure, cloud storage platforms, or data repositories.

Knowledge of AI data governance principles and GMLP.

Understanding of regulatory requirements relevant to AI-enabled medical devices, including:
