Senior Finance Manager, DACH

 

Ambu A/S is currently looking for a Senior Finance Manager, DACH to be based in our Bad Nauheim office, close to Frankfurt. 

 

In this key role, you will lead finance operations across the DACH region, managing local accounting teams and working in close partnership with our Finance Shared Services in Malaysia. You will report to the Director, Parent & EMEA Accounting based at Ambu’s headquarters in Denmark, with a dotted line to the Vice President, DACH.

 

Beyond your local responsibilities, you will also be part of Ambu’s global network of Finance Managers across EMEA, collaborating on shared initiatives and contributing to the annual finance cycle.

 

 

Key responsibilities

 

As Senior Finance Manager, DACH, you will play a critical role in ensuring financial integrity, compliance, and strategic support. Your main responsibilities will include:

 

  • Financial Reporting & Compliance
    • Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes in line with IFRS and Group requirements.
    • Ensure timely and accurate statutory reporting, tax filings, and compliance with local regulations (e.g. VAT, GDPR, ESG).
    • Manage relationships with local and Group auditors, ensuring all deliverables are met.
    • Work closely with our Finance Shared Services teams in Malaysia to ensure smooth and efficient financial operations.
  • Internal Controls & Risk Management
    • Maintain strong internal controls to ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies.
    • Oversee payroll and treasury operations, including banking relationships and payment processes.
  • Business Partnering & Cost Management
    • Collaborate closely with Commercial Finance to monitor cost spend, improve cash flow, and avoid financial surprises.
    • Support forecasting, budgeting, and long-term planning processes.
  • Leadership & Strategic Projects
    • Lead the local accounting teams and foster strong collaboration with local management and key stakeholders.
    • Contribute to global projects, strategic initiatives and other ad hoc tasks as needed.

 

 

Suggested candidate profile

 

Skills and experiences can be earned in many different ways, and we understand that the best fit for the role cannot be prescribed on paper. You are however likely to succeed in this position if you have:

 

  • Proven experience in a similar finance leadership role, ideally within a global matrix organization. Experience in a regulated manufacturing (medtech, pharma, life sciences) environment is a strong plus.
  • Solid understanding of financial and accounting processes, including relevant legal and regulatory frameworks in Germany.
  • Deep knowledge of the German market and its financial landscape. Professional knowledge of the Swiss market is beneficial.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, combined with a structured, proactive, and solution-oriented mindset.
  • Strong skills in ERP platforms, Power BI and other finance reporting tools, with the ability to communicate financial insights clearly to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
  • High level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail, while maintaining a broader business perspective.
  • Ability to work effectively across cultures and time zones in a global environment.
  • A university degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or a related field.
  • Fluency in English and German.
  • Ability to travel to Munich or Copenhagen approximately 25-30 days per year.
