About the Role 

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Software Quality Lead to take ownership of the quality testing strategy for our medical device software. In this role, you will be part of the team in our office in Augsburg, Germany, while being an integral part of a broader team in Ballerup, Denmark and Penang, Malaysia. You will play a key role in ensuring our products meet the highest standards of safety, reliability, and compliance. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of our quality testing framework and tool landscape. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Define and maintain the software quality test strategy for our product lines. 

  • Own and manage the quality test process (Quality Testing) across the organization. 

  • Coordinate and manage quality software testing activities to uphold high standards of software quality. 

  • Define and maintain our test software tool stack and test management tools. 

  • Collaborate closely with verification teams, software developers, and regulatory affairs to ensure alignment and traceability. 

  • Drive continuous improvement in test processes, automation, and documentation. 

  • Ensure compliance with relevant medical device standards (e.g., IEC 62304). 

  • Provide guidance and mentorship to team members involved in quality testing. 

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. 

  • At least 5 years of experience in software testing, with a preference for backgrounds in the medical device or regulated industries; however, this is not mandatory 

  • Strong understanding of test strategy development, test planning, and tool selection. 

  • Experience with test management tools (e.g., TestRail, Zephyr, Xray) and automation frameworks. 

  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and standards for medical software. 

  • Excellent communication and documentation skills in English. 

 

Nice to Have 

  • ISTQB certification (Advanced or Expert level). 

  • Experience with Agile development environments. 

  • Knowledge of risk-based testing and traceability in regulated environments. 

 

About the team 

In this role, you will join a team of 11 engineering professionals, with competencies spanning from DevOps to Test Automation. The team is characterized by a quality-driven and high-performing environment, where expectations are high, but so is the level of support and collaboration. Team members are located in both Ballerup, Denmark, and Penang, Malaysia 

You will report to the Head of DevOps & Software Verification, David Andersen.
