R&D Engineer – Injection Moulding

Ambu Innovation is currently looking for an Injection Moulding Engineer to join our Industrialization Department.
In our team we have a small group of experienced Injection Moulding Engineers with the common goal of developing plastic parts for medical products.
As an Injection Moulding Engineer, you'll bring your expertise to strengthen our project teams and play an active role in design for manufacturing of our plastic components.
Key responsibilities
Your main responsibilities will include:

Acting as an individual contributor in projects related to injection moulding design, leading the implementation and documentation of new processes from 3D model to final component.

Ensuring design for manufacturing (DFM) of injection moulded parts, including supplier management, material selection, and quality aspects such as robustness, cost-effectiveness, sustainability, and medical safety.

Participating in all phases of the innovation process—from conceptual design to product validation.

Managing subcontractors and external partners involved in tooling and process development.

Overseeing budgets for tooling, injection processes, and related manufacturing equipment.

Collaborating with suppliers to ensure component quality and conducting process validation activities (IQ, OQ, PQ).

Working in an international setting, collaborating with development teams in Germany, Denmark, Malaysia and China as well as external partners, users, physicians, and knowledge centers.
Suggested candidate profile
Skills and experiences can be earned in many different ways, and we understand that the best fit for the role cannot be prescribed on paper. You are however likely to succeed in this position if you:

Have more than 3-5 years of experience as an Injection Moulding Engineer in plastic component development.

Possess practical experience in design for manufacturing of plastic components and demonstrate a solid understanding of supplier management.

Have strong knowledge of DfM/DfA, process validation, and tooling.
It would be advantageous if you can also bring:

Previous experience in a project-driven and international environment within a medical company.
