Ambu is currently looking for an experienced leader to head our Global Quality Management Operations & Sales department. This is a key strategic role focused on building and scaling a newly established global function that spans Sales, Manufacturing & Automation, and Supplier Management. The position plays a central part in driving quality as a business enabler across Ambu and shaping how quality supports innovation, growth, and operational excellence.

 

You will lead the development of global capabilities, drive strategic initiatives, ensure regulatory compliance, and foster strong cross-functional partnerships across Ambu’s international organization.

 

This position reports to the VP of Global Quality Management and can be based either at our HQ in Ballerup, Denmark or at our R&D center in Augsburg, Germany.

 

 

Key responsibilities

 

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Lead the day-to-day management and strategic development of the Global Quality Management Operations & Sales department.
  • Drive quality measurement, analysis, and improvement initiatives, including reporting of quality objectives and quarterly input to the Quality Committee.
  • Oversee supplier quality management, including supplier controls, quality agreements, audits, and qualification of partners and acquisitions.
  • Ensure effective participation in internal, corporate, supplier, and external audits, including those conducted by Notified Bodies and authorities.
  • Continuously improve Ambu’s Quality Management System (QMS) within the area of responsibility to ensure efficiency and best practices.
  • Foster strong business partnerships with Supply Chain, Procurement, Sales Territories, and other global functions, acting as a strategic sparring partner to leadership.
  • Ensure clear communication and education on quality topics across relevant stakeholders and support the implementation of the Global Quality Management strategy.

 

 

Suggested candidate profile

 

Skills and experiences can be earned in many different ways, and we understand that the best fit for the role cannot be prescribed on paper. You are however likely to succeed in this position if you:

 

  • Minimum 10 years of professional experience in quality management, or related areas, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven experience working within the medical device industry, with deep understanding of its regulatory and operational landscape.
  • Strong knowledge of global regulatory standards, including FDA, ISO 13485, and other applicable frameworks.
  • Experience in building and managing quality systems and processes within manufacturing and automation environments is considered a strong advantage.
  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., engineering, life sciences, quality management), or equivalent education and experience.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to drive change and resolve complex challenges.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
  • Ability to work from either our Ballerup (Denmark) HQ or Augsburg (Germany) office, with flexibility to work from home up to two days per week.
